The Independence Rock Coalition examines the intersection of faith, recovery and social justice. By supporting an inclusive model of public discourse and community dialogue in all cities, towns and rural areas. We do so by fostering an atmosphere free from bias and partisanship. At the Independence Rock Coalition, we believe in building bridges, not walls. All are welcome.
Some write letters to the editor, others blog, and many link articles through social media that represent a single point of view which is often a shot at the “other side” or is a form of “preaching to the choir.” The Independence Rock Coalition is a nonprofit that serves the greater good through inclusive, civil public discourse in local and regional media outlets, online and through social media, IRC programs, as well as community-based events. The IRC brings local and regional voices to the public stage alongside academics, writers, artists, activists and public figures from outside the region. The nonprofit fosters balance dialogue from a broad spectrum of political, philosophical, and unconventional voices on issues ranging from violence, addiction and poverty to those of faith and spirituality.
